This is a particularly lovely memory of Julia regarding my work.

She phoned me with great gusto and enthusiasm to relay her story having discovered one of my cards in Beckenham bookshop, a surprise to us both, most of all me! (2011-2012) While browsing through the cards she announced, " what a lovely card" and when she looked on the back, shrieked, "it's Sarah's"! 

I loved her for so many things, most of all her generous spirit and humility. I remember her telling me about a homeless man, selling Big Issue, one Christmas and how she listened to his story with great compassion (needless to say she would have brightened his day).

Julia always took a great interest in my work throughout my life. We chatted during my time in France (2019- 2020) in which I shared my adventures, one in particular of when I discovered the most exquisite white donkey called Snowflake'. I sent a painted postcard to her which to my amazement arrived a year later.
